ArcelorMittal sheet piles for the port infrastructure in Sochi

In total, more than 9.000 tonnes of steel sheet piles manufactured in Luxembourg were delivered for the construction of different harbour infrastructures in 2009 and 2012 and definitely contributed to the completion on time of all the infrastructure and civil works for the Sochi Winter Olympics 2014.


ArcelorMittal steel for the renovation of Geoffroy Guichard Stadium in France

For the Euro 2016, the Stadium Geoffroy Guichard in the French town of St. Etienne is undergoing substantial renovation. ArcelorMittal has supplied the steel for the venue's new metal skin: perforated trapzoidal Hacierba steel sheets coated with Aluzinc®, precoated ST 500 sheets. Hacierco steel deck was used for the roof.


ArcelorMittal launches Optigal™ - the optimised protection for a new-generation organic coated steel

ArcelorMittal launched the OptigalTM, a new zinc-aluminium-magnesium alloy developed for better performing and more sustainable organic coated steels. OptigalTM is perfectly suited for all roofing and cladding panels and profiles, as well as being the ideal substrate for pre-painted steel.

Sheet pile walls secure River Mulde dyke in Leipzig district

The dyke on the River Mulde provides protection against flooding for the water catchment area of the waterworks in Thallwitz and Canitz (in the rural district of Leipzig). ArcelorMittal supplied 400 tonnes of sheet piles to secure the dyke along the River Mulde.

A record-breaking journey & logistical challenge: Steel Jumbos on Rail

Chernobyl's New Safe Confinement Structure with ArcelorMittal steel

End of November 2012, the first part of new containment structure for the defunct reactor in Chernobyl was put into place. This new “Sarcophagus” will encase the reactor number 4 and the old containment structure and its construction will be finished in late 2015.
