S460 High strength structural steel grades

S460 Structural steels grades are high strength weldable fine grain structural steels.

Technical information

Each grade can be obtained with guaranteed impact properties at -20°C (N or M grades), or for low-temperature applications, at -50°C (NL or ML grades).

High strength weldable fine grain structural steels offer good weldability with all conventional welding processes.

These steels are used for welded parts that must withstand high levels of strain. Typical applications are bridges, long span structures, high-rise buildings, and other architectural structures.

Since 1 July 2013, the Construction Products Regulation (Regulation (EU) No. 305/2011 – CPR) has required that CE marking be affixed to all products delivered in accordance with a harmonised standard. This CE marking guarantees, for the uses defined in the standard, the properties described in the declaration of performance submitted by the manufacturer. All of the steels in this data description comply with this regulation.
