Welcome to our Summer newsletter!
This month, take a closer look at ArcelorMittal’s range of heavy plates and European sections that were used in the creation of Rotterdam’s Timmerhuis mixed use building. Our newest case study delves into this cloud-like building that was designed by OMA in line with the Dutch city’s ‘living city’ philosophy.
A new R&D report looks at the shortcomings of the current practice of shear connections in fully embedded columns and introduces a new, innovative type of flat shear connection for steel-concrete composite structures.
Read about sustainable transport in Norway, the benefits of Granite® Ultramat and steel roofing, how ArcelorMittal Europe – Flat Products met the rigorous needs of a pipeline project, and the incredible vision of Leslie E. Robertson – the structural engineer behind the Twin Towers.
We hope you are staying cool in this summer heat. Summer travels often take us through stunning railway stations, so this month we take a closer look at our range of solutions for railway stations.
Finally, do not miss the updated version of the Trusses+ pre design software, and check out our new hub for our Inspiring Steel newsletters.
Happy summer!
