Welcome to our May newsletter!
This month's case study takes us to Vienna, where roof extensions in renovated historic buildings are becoming increasingly common. The two new levels of Hotel Motto, constructed with ArcelorMittal's Cofrastra® composite flooring, include a roof terrace and a restaurant open to the public. Find out about the advantages of these floor decks - a light and practical solution for medium spans - and other ArcelorMittal solutions for renovation works.
Progressing down the path towards carbon neutral steel, ArcelorMittal has launched XCarb™. Explore some of the XCarb™ initiatives and find out how ArcelorMittal and Air Liquide are working together en route to this goal.
One of ArcelorMittal's star products for corrosion resistance, Magnelis® metallic coated steel, continues to conquer. Thanks to co-marketing and promotional efforts, Turkish company Meka Metal have successfully turned a large portion of their customers in different industries to profiles and tubes made of Magnelis®.
In this European Year of Rail, ArcelorMittal Rails & Special Sections is taking the opportunity to present new products and tools for their customers in the sector, including Railcor® rails that provide better protection against corrosion.
Also in this edition: The ATRIO North Tower in Colombia with an anti-seismic design utilising ArcelorMittal structural sections, the benefits of facade systems with sandwich panels, how ArcelorMittal partner DEKMETAL use the Granite® range for their products in the Czech Republic, more corrosion resistance solutions, and ArcelorMittal Construction Sweden’s newest production line.
Enjoy!

Hidden in the fabric of this historic hotel were multiple ceiling constructions that were revealed during renovation. For the additional levels planned for this arresting roof extension, civil engineers turned to a steel composite construction with ArcelorMittal’s Cofrastra® composite flooring system.

Characterised by their special dove-tail rib shapes that optimise composite action with concrete to allow heavy loads at medium spans, Cofrastra® 40 and 70 composite flooring decks offer substantial savings in weight, time, and cost. Easy handling and quick installation guarantee the flexibility required in renovations.
