The new Cargolux Headquarters brings together previously scattered departments into one space – a space that stands out with a two-storey square ring that almost hovers over the main building. The structural steel sections in different grades, including HISTAR® 460, and the steel sheets for the composite flooring systems of both the square ring and the car park were supplied by ArcelorMittal.

HISTAR® steels are innovative structural grades combining high strength with excellent toughness at low temperatures and outstanding weldability - material properties considered incompatible until recently. HISTAR® steels are the ideal solution for structural applications where strong axial behaviour is key.
Cofraplus® composite floor deck offers significant weight, time, and cost savings – a great solution for most projects - with spans of up to 4.5 m without props. Acting as a horizontal wind brace, Cofraplus® also contributes to the stability of the entire building. Manual installation means no cranes necessary.

With the European Union aiming to become the first carbon-neutral continent by 2050, new and greener fuels are entering the energy market. ArcelorMittal is actively working with customers, researchers, and regulators to define new steel grades and testing methodologies which will allow green energy to be distributed across the EU.

For the extension of Valencia’s Metrovalencia underground, ArcelorMittal supplied grooved rails made from Low Carbon R290V steel, a grade that stands for less carbon content with better performance - including easy maintenance, welding, and repair welding that increases the service life of embedded rails.
